To start your journey, you will have to pass through the Hossoku mountains; a relatively small but tiring mountain range. A reasonably navigable path runs through it, if you're in to that kind of stuff.

A shady town with Dark types running freely on the streets. The people seem nice, but the dark buildings add to the ominous facade. This town is a necessity, however, for the first Gym resides here.

So this is where all of the bugs are attracted to... This town is much like the rainforest-y Route in front of it, but it seems all of the houses are made of... mushrooms? That's right, the residencies of this town are carved into massive fungi... with the exception of the Gym. Speaking of which, the fourth Gym resides here, its leader a master of Bug Types.

The river is named after its steady flow; it stretches for miles and miles with a consistent current. You can pay the fee and ferry yourself across or brave the water alone.

As you leave the Marshy wetlands of Route Eight, you find yourself on the bank of a gigantic lake. A river of water flows in and out of it with a large city built on the water. Welcome to Hori Town.

This is for last-minute healing; and shopping. Because of the intense difficulty of the Elite Four, merchants take advantage of the desperate trainers and inflate the prices to unfair rates. This is also where you'll get the code to unlock the door leading to the first elite four.
